Nobody is forcing you to apply now.
There is an age range for a reason.
If you have liabilities in your application, like a low GMAT or no significant leadership experience outside of work, then consider taking proactive steps to fix those before you take your shot at the best schools.
Once you get rejected from top schools like Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, or Kellogg, you can re-apply, but you will need to show marked improvement in key categories to get a fair look.
That’s not always easy to achieve in a year or two.
So apply when your time is ripe.
